As co-founder of the Digital Trials Center (DTC) at Scripps Research  and Chief Science Officer at CareEvolution, Ed Ramos seeks to decentralize research through use of digital health technologies, employing novel strategies for remote, “site-less” participation, and applying state-of-the-art methodologies for data analysis. Ed oversees the DTC’s research portfolio, which includes decentralized and hybrid trials in infectious disease, maternal health, sleep medicine, precision nutrition,  and a growing list of other projects and platforms aimed at transforming the future of clinical trials.

Ed has led or managed projects and studies that span population genomics, bioinformatics, mobile health, and digital clinical trials having served in various capacities at the National Institutes of Health.Ed began his federal service as a legislative fellow and legislative assistant, advising then-U.S. Senator Barack Obama on health and science policy. He received his PhD in molecular biotechnology from the University of Washington with his thesis work carried out at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
